3 Reasons Why You May Fail If Your New Year's Resolution is Connected to Weight Loss...

What You Should Focus on for a Better New Year's Resolution Success Rate.

Weight loss may be the resolution you make in the spring because January may not be it, yet weight loss was the #1 New Year's resolution of 2015 according to Static Brain.  You can already see the gym commercials and ads now. However, according to weight loss sources and business publications, there seems to be a common theme in weight loss geared resolutions...

They fail.

Reason Why You May Fail  If Your New Years Resolution is Connected to Weight Loss #1

Weight Loss a Personal Change.

The Bull Dog Reporter states that one reason is because weight loss is a personal change.  It's much easier to separate business from pleasure, but when we think of our bodies, this is a much more personal experience.  What was once a dedication seems like a responsibility and we start to make more excuses as to why we cannot handle the new "diet".

Personal change requires mental will and strength which is easier said than done.  It requires a definite decision to focus because we have to now be aware of what we once unconscious of  the day before (i.e. procrastination, attitude, habits, etc) because weight loss requires full body and mind observation.  We often become more disappointed when we miss a milestone that requires a personal change.  This only increases frustration and the failure rate.

Reason Why You May Fail  If Your New Years Resolution is Connected to Weight Loss #2

Most Weight Loss Resolutions are Done for Someone Else... (with someone else in mind).

This one does not seem like a biggie but we call them accountability partners.  What happens when your accountability partner decides they don't want that responsibility? What usually happens is the weight loss deal is secretly off.  Pinkies Oinkments has 9 other reasons that weight loss New Year's resolution success rates are rare.

Secondly, are you really doing it for yourself, or do you want to "kill them" while on vacation?  Do you want to show all of "them" your new body?  Nine times out of 10, that reason is NOT going to keep you dedicated to your New Year's weight loss plan.  Find a reason why you want to lose the weight and any time is a great time!

Weight Loss is a Financial Burden.

Yes, there are tips to show you how to lose weight for less but how much is less?  What if you cannot afford less?  Tips and techniques work for those who have the tools needed for the task.  If you do not have any tools or resources, you have to get those before you begin the techniques... even if they are for less.

In addition, just like with anything else we have to put our whole selves into this goal and if your reason is #2, than you may not have your whole self into the cause.  One may not have put into their schedule that they needed to actually learn how to stay efficient.

After all of the money spent, all of the "knowledge" you now have, the gym membership (optional), the new equipment (great for long-term commitment weight loss commitment goals) how many of us find that we are the same size or bigger than what we started?

However, There is light at the end of the tunnel.

There is light at the end of the tunnel...

Studies show that business related New Year's Resolutions are more successful.  Read more of why this is by clicking here to see the article written by Bull Dog Reporter.

Having a business related resolution will definitely get rid of problem #3 if you are dedicated just like with any other resolution.  In addition, people feel more important if they are busy doing something that is closer to their hearts or tends to their hearts which is what your business should ultimately do.

With the new presidential election coming this year, the topic of business may be more important than most think.  While some of us are promising to look the part losing weight, others are promising to be the part getting their financial strategies in order.  It will behoove anyone to have their financial and small business ducks in a row (or at least have an idea of some kind of duck sauce he/she wants to market).

A Business in Travel is What We Suggest Here at Way Better... 3 Reasons why:

1. If you have a resolution to take more REAL vacations this year,  it would be best to do that and make a living doing so.  You may feel more satisfaction with your overall life with the new freedom of actually taking or being able to take vacation.  Don't agree?  Lifehacker does.

One reason the New Year's resolution fails as a whole is because there are too many on the list.  Having a travel business may allow you to kill many birds with one stone.

The sun many add to your intentions of losing weight.  Ahhh, that great Vitamin D

2. If you are planning on losing weight, the personal development that comes with a stay at home travel business with Way Better, will give you the grounding, the mentality, commitment, and dedication it needs to lose weight.  The principles are the same, they are life long principles.  The difference is how you apply them.

Applying the principle of growth, loss, and patience is more personal when dealing with weight loss which makes it a little more easier to apply these principles in an easier manner before jumping into what may be a huge feat.  The tropical beaches doesn't hurt either.

3. If you a planning on learning a new skill, delving into a business once and for all will take those years of procrastination off where you were just "thinking" about it.  You will need the help of a community and a mastermind group who have been doing it all around; you need the whole team.

A travel club offers the community and exposure you need to get your real self out there.  Some of us may need to just spend time not consuming our minds with ourselves.  Having a community of like -minded people gives you greater sense of self, belonging, and takes your mind off of the dreaded "weight monster", which may be healthy in itself.

Haven't Set Your New Year's Resolution?  Just Stay Away from Weight Loss, Try for March, the gym should be just about empty by then until June.

Moral of the story, choose a change that is business related.
