There are two different ways to sign up with World Ventures.  Unlike most MLM business models where the significance is put on representatives, World Ventures does not give it's members "bonuses" for having representatives in the company but rather customers.

However, just like with any other MLM business model, World Ventures is often called a scam and not a vacation business opportunity.  This can be because of those who assume it takes on the "representative scam model".  In World Ventures a customer is a member of the club.  All members are customers and all representatives are not customers.  A person can decide to become a representative of the company, a customer, or both.

Customers are the lifeline of the business at World Ventures.  The exclusive membership packages, discounted travel, all inclusive VIP accommodations, and more are geared only for the customers.  Representatives of the company are not held to signing up representatives but members.  If a member decides to take advantage of the lucrative opportunity of becoming a representative and getting more customers for themselves, that is up to them.  Otherwise a member can just choose to take advantage of their membership benefits.

Since the company thrives off of its customers, customers tend to brag about their memberships or the prices they pay often looking like representatives or giving the impression that they need representatives in their business an are not customers.

Representatives do not have to take advantage of the membership but can offer it instead to others (customers).  In this effort, the representative would be sort of a travel agent for travel club deals.  Representatives who enter the company in this manner do not get the benefits of membership but are offered the lucrative pay that representatives make.  The problem comes in where representatives want the perks, discounts, and experiences of the members so they themselves become members to experience what they are offering to their customers first hand.

What makes World Ventures harder to join is that the MLM structure leads representatives to their family members and friends to ask if they want to join them in their vacation freedom.  It is known that when on vacation, people often go with the ones they love and as a way to begin the freedom of owning a business, it may seem easier to ask the people who are already going with you.

If representatives choose not to go to family members and friends, they have to build a customer base just like any other business earn a lucrative income.
